Jack Hammer is a video slot by Net Entertainment based on a fictional comic hero with sticky re-spins, free spins and more.
Net Entertainment has made a lot of games based on licensing deals with existing brands. However, they’ve also made titles like the Jack Hammer slot (and its sequels) based on their own concepts that they have developed. This game has a comic book detective theme, and the graphics are done in the comic book style. It looks amazing, and it has a strong style of gameplay with tons of features and action.
|Bet Sizes||$0.25 – $250|
|Features||Sticky Re-spins, Free Spins, Multipliers|
The Jack Hammer video slot uses a typical 25-payline video slot layout. Something that is a bit different about this game, however, is that all 15 of the symbol positions spin independently. Technically speaking, it has 15 reels in this sense, but that’s not the way that people normally talk about the game. This affects the gameplay in particular with the scatters since it makes it easier to get several on vertical reels.
If you want to adjust your bet size in this game, you’ll have to change the number of coins per payline and the size of those coins because you don’t have the option to change the number of paylines. You most likely wouldn’t want to play with fewer than the maximum, but that’s beside the point. Coins go from $0.01 up to $1 each, and you can wager between one and 10 coins on every one of the paylines. This gives you a betting range of $0.25 to $250 per turn, which obviously offers sizes for players from penny stakes to high stakes.
If you’re a fan of video slots, then you’ll have certain ideas and feelings for how games are played. You have to have an open mind, to a certain extent, with how the gameplay works with the Jack Hammer online slot because the independently spinning reels combines with the features to create a slightly different approach that you won’t be familiar with at first. It takes a little time to get used to, but it offers a lot in terms of making sure that you have a lot of action and chances to win.
There’s a really great feature that drives virtually all of the gameplay for this slot, and it’s called the sticky win or sticky re-spin feature. When you get a winning combination or at least three of the free spin symbol, you’ll trigger this feature. What happens is that those symbols that have formed your combination are held sticky, and all of the rest of the symbols spin. Note this is before any payouts are free turns are awarded.
If you get new potential wins or symbols that add onto existing wins, they will hold sticky and give you more re-spins until you don’t have any new wins. Then the payouts are given to you and any free spins that are owed to you are rewarded. This feature has the effect of giving you larger wins than you’ll be used to, on average, while also giving you more multi-line wins and making it easier to trigger the free spins bonus feature.
We noted before that each of the 15 symbols spin independently, and we also noted that the sticky re-spin feature makes it easier to get the free spin symbols. This symbol is a bomb that’s going “tic toc” and about to explode into value. In the Jack Hammer video slot, you’ll want to see at least five of these on the reels to trigger the feature.
Five of this bomb will earn 10 free spins, and six gets you 15. you’ll pick up 20 free spins for seven of this symbol, 25 for eight and 30 for nine or more. These free turns get you a lot of extra value because all of your winnings and payouts are given a 3x multiplier.
Something else that contributes to the value in this game is the fact that there aren’t really that many symbols. That makes it easier to hit matching combinations. Jack Hammer himself is the top-paying symbol, and five of a kind of him will earn you 1,000x. You can get 300x for five of his villain, and five of the woman on the telephon gets ou 250x too. A win of 200x can be had with five of a kind of the boy holding the newspaper.
It’s really critical to take a good look at how the payout structure works here. You’re getting one top jackpot at the bottom end of the four-figure range, and the next three pays are clustered together very closely in the mid-level range. The point of this is to give you an opportunity to take down a sizable prize while still balancing the pay table enough to maintain a medium level of volatility.
Five other comic book panes make up the rest of the pay table. The evil Dr. Wuten’s blimp will get you 125x for five of a kind. You can also pick up 100x for five of a kind of the car symbol with Jack Hammer shooting out the driver’s side door. The newspaper with a headline of the doctor threatening the city earns 75x for five, and five of the telephone ringing gets 50x. The lowest-paying symbol is the doctor’s hand holding some kind of tube of chemicals, and it’ll earn 40x for five on a payline.
Some of these wins are going to seem a bit on the low side, but you have to remember that the sticky re-spin feature will give you larger wins and give you wins more often than what you would normally expect in a video slot. Along these lines, you have to adjust your expectations slightly so that you understand you’re getting smaller wins on the bottom end of the pay table, but you’re also getting them more often.
The comic book style found in the Jack Hammer video slot is also found in the other games based on the same theme. This title in particular set off a very popular series by Net Entertainment, but the gameplay styles of each game are different to make them stand out from each other.
As you can see with this particular slot’s style of play, it’s a little different than what you’d normally expect. However, that’s a great thing because it adds even more variety to their portfolio as a whole. This is also one of the big reasons why it has remained popular since its initial release, which is unusual for the first game in a series of video slots. It’s typically the later versions that get the most attention, but this game is the exception to the rule.
